Grounded in her experience as a researcher, political analyst, community development specialist and consultant, Lily has honed her expertise into a bold, actionable, creative and successful approach. With over 9 years of experience in developing nations, her strategies enable organizations to reach their goals and assist in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding new and existing donors with a practical, hands-on approach to ignite action and raise support. 

While completing a degree in Conflict Resolution at the University of Cape Town, South Africa in 2010, she relocated to Mozambique to conduct research. During her research, she lived in a rural village in southern Mozambique, identifying and interviewing key informants, as well as contributed to the local community. Soon after, she managed a Trust in a remote, wild region of northern Mozambique, investing her time in community development, agriculture and aquaculture programs. Although she has lived, worked and studied in several developing nations including Kenya, Mexico and Turkey, still, Mozambique is one of her favorite places in the world. She aspires to make a unique and lasting impact in the areas of philanthropy and research in southern Africa, specifically focused on bringing donor investment into the region through causes that are near and dear to her heart. Having lived and worked in the region since 2010, she has a wide range of experience to offer clients. 

Chambalson Jorge Chambal

With a background in law and education, Chambalson joins the team at Tuya Consulting to contribute a wide range of skills in the areas of communication and research. During his senior year in university, he was selected to become a member of the Legal Practice Center where talented students work together on social issues such as domestic violence, labor law, court procedures, and academic lectures under the direct supervision of attorneys and professors. This experience gave him the necessary skills to interact in diverse environments, and to operate with confidence in complex situations.

During his role as Junior Attorney in the law firm Pimenta, Dionísio and Associates, he learned the ways of a law professional and responded to demanding issues. Since 2014, Chambalson has served as a university trainer in law at the Instituto Superior de Gestão, Comércio e Finanças(ISGECOF). He has refined his research, interpersonal and training skills, and has equipped his students with practical and hands-on experience in law.  

Fluent in Portuguese, Changana and English, his experience and characteristic values of creativity, flexibility, detail-oriented work, and initiative position him well for his current role at Tuya Consulting.

With over eight years’ experience in coordinating and managing projects and programmes cycles, she has a talent for providing clear guidance and leadership, and ensuring that all requirements are fully met. Having worked in various public and private institutions, as well as NGOs, Suse is flexible and able to adapt well to a wide variety of challenges. She is a meticulous organizer who possesses excellent communication and teamwork skills and performs well under pressure. Having an active commitment to continuous improvement and quality standards, she always works hard to create a positive atmosphere that motivates others and builds team spirit.


Francisco Garnero Palomar

Francisco is an architect and building engineer with a background in design, rehabilitation and project management. He has a keen interest in sustainable architecture related to the reuse and recycling of materials, and rethinking building methods to minimize the environmental footprint of construction. With over four years of experience in engineering and architecture, he began his career with building inspections where he performed analysis of the security of structures as well as the viability of the façade, electricity, plumbing, heating and cooling systems required in housing. As Production Manager, he assisted the logistic and financial planning necessary to execute a project with 200 dwellings and a large shopping mall including a modern condominium project. He is detailed and able to draw different models required taking into account the budget of the project. Currently, he collaborates on a part-time contract with Casa Minha Nosso Bairro, a sustainable housing project that seeks to find solutions to the challenges of urban expansion in Maputo City.
